  • Latanoprost (trade names include Xalatan, Arulatan, Gaap Ofteno, Latanoprost Pfizer, Latanoprost Ratiopharm, Latanox, Rozaprost, Sandoz Latanoprost, Xaloptic) is an ophthalmological antiglaucoma medication from prostaglandin analogues pharmacological group. This medicine is indicated for the treatment of certain types of glaucoma and other medical conditions causes by high intraocular pressure. This includes open-angle glaucoma, closed-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension. In the cosmetic industry it is used for hair loss, and as eyelash growth enhancers for lengthening and thickening of the eyelashes.
    Latanoprost works by reducing pressure in eyes by increasing the amount of fluid that drains from eyes. It may be used alone or in combination with other ophthalmic drugs such as timolol maleate.
