    Pharmacological action

    Mebendazole is a worming medication a broad spectrum of action, it is most effective when enterobioze. This drug causes irreversible disturbance of glucose utilization in the body of the worm and inhibits the synthesis of ATP.


    Mebendazole is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The plasma protein binding is 90%. This medication is distributed unevenly in organs and accumulates in adipose tissue, liver, and larvae of helminths. Mebendazole is metabolized in the liver to 2-amino derivative.
    T1/2 is 2.5-5.5 hours. More than 90% of the dose is excreted unchanged in feces. Grown deep portion (5-10%) is excreted by kidneys.

    Mebendazole side effects, adverse reactions

    Digestive system: rarely - nausea, abdominal pain; when used in high doses for long periods of time may be vomiting, diarrhea, transient elevation of liver enzymes in serum.
