Cycloserine (trade names include Seromycin, Coxerin, Cyclorin, Cyclotec, Myser) is an anti-tuberculosis medication from antibiotics for treatment of tuberculosis pharmacological group. This medicine is prescribed to treat patients with tuberculosis, usually who have been unsuccessfully treated with other pharmaceutical drugs. Seromycin is indicated in combinations with other antituberculosis drugs for the therapy of both active and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. It works by killing or interferes with the growth of bacteria that cause tuberculosis.
Cycloserine is also used for the therapy of acute urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by susceptible gram-positive or gram-negative bacteria, especially Enterobacter or Escherichia coli.
