Methocarbamol (trade names include Robaxin, Bigomet, Carbamol, DoloVisano, Lumirelax, Myomethol, Ortoton, Rexivin, Robaxin-V, Robinax) is a muscle relaxant from carbamic acid esters pharmacological group. It is indicated together with rest, physical therapy, and other pain medications to treat skeletal muscle conditions such as pain, injury, skeletal muscle spasms, acute musculoskeletal spasms, painful musculoskeletal spasms, short-term musculoskeletal pain, muscle spasms associated with rib fractures, low back pain, neck pain, traumatic pain, dorsalgia, myalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic neurological disorders, dyskinesias, cerebral palsy, to control neuromuscular spasms of tetanus. This medication is used also in veterinary. Methocarbamol works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to patient's brain. Robaxin is one of the best to stop painful nerve impulses that control pain, to provide quick relief from muscle and back aches.
