  • Ivermectin (trade names include Stromectol, Acarexx, Ausmectin, Avimec, Baymec, Bimectin, Bomectin, Closamectin, Ecomectin, Eraquell, IverCare, Ivermax, Ivermectin Durvet, Ivermectol, Ivexterm, Ivomec, Mectin, Mectizan, Noromectin, Nuheart, Paramectin, Rosiver, Sklice, Soolantra, Valuheart, Vetrimec, Virbamec) is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, antiparasitic and dermatological medication from avermectines pharmacological group. This medicine is used for the treatment of many parasitic infections, such as mites, scabies, head lice, bed bugs, lymphatic filariasis, elephantiasis, intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis (river blindness), ascariasis, trichuriasis, cutaneous larva migrans, enterobiasis. As a dermatological preparation Ivermectin is indicated for the therapy of rosacea. Stromectol is also used in veterinary for various pets and animals (Ivermectin for dogs, cats, birds, chickens, guinea pigs, horses, rabbits, sheep, etc.) to treat most mites, some lice, nematode worms, heartworms, many other intestinal worms, and ectoparasites. It works by paralyzing and killing parasites. Ivermectin is one of the most widely used antiparasitic medication both for humans and animals.
