This medicine is used for the treatment of aches and pains (such as most types of headache, migraines, toothache, menstrual pain, minor pain of arthritis, rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, muscle pain, back pain, sciatica, spondyloarthritis, pericarditis, some types of neuropathic pain), inflammatory diseases (for both acute and long-term inflammation), Kawasaki disease, fever, systemic lupus erythematosus, aseptic necrosis, niacin flush, polycythemia vera, schizophrenia; after percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs); for thrombosis prophylaxis after implantation of prosthetic heart valves; for revascularization procedures; as an add-on treatment for bipolar disorder; for reducing the incidence of dementia; in veterinary medicine as an anticoagulant or to relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis or musculoskeletal inflammation.
Aspirin is also indicated for the prevention of heart attack, stroke, angina, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, ischemic attack, ischemic stroke, blood clots, thrombosis, embolism, thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation, antiphospholipid syndrome, pre-eclampsia, certain types of cancer (particularly colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer). Acetylsalicylic Acid (ASA) is widely indicated for monotherapy and in combinations with other medications.
