This medicine is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), portal hypertension, tremors, angina pectoris (chest pain), some types of irregular heart rate, atrial fibrillation, aortic stenosis, hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, akathisia, muscle tremor, pheochromocytoma, anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, performance anxiety, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), arachnophobia, dental fear, specific phobias, misophonia, aggressive behavior of people with brain injuries, psychogenic polydipsia, proliferating infantile hemangioma, capillary hemangiomas, glaucoma, thyrotoxicosis, asymmetric septal hypertrophy, essential tremors, arrhythmia, tachyarrhythmia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, heart rhythm disorders, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, coronary heart disease, and other heart or circulatory conditions. Propranolol Hydrochloride is also indicated to treat or prevent heart attack, myocardial infarction, mitral valve prolapse, tardive dyskinesia, intermittent explosive disorder, esophageal variceal bleeding and ascites, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches, chronic migraine, cluster headaches, primary exertional headache.
