Lisinopril (trade names include Prinivil, Zestril, Acemin, Biopril, Diroton, Lipril, Lisdene, Lisi Lich, Lisidigal, Lisodura, Lisoril, Lisopress, Listril, Qbrelis, Tensopril) is a medication for cardiovascular system from angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors pharmacological group. This medicine is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), congestive heart failure (in combination with other drugs), kidney problems in people with diabetes mellitus (diabetic nephropathy, diabetic kidney disease, polycystic kidney disease), alport syndrome, coronary artery disease; to prevent the subsequent development of left ventricular hypertrophy; to protect the heart after a heart attack; for migraine prevention. It is also indicated for preventing kidney and eye complications in people with diabetes. Lisinopril works by relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.
