This medicine is used for the treatment of certain types of autoimmune disorders, immunosuppression, cancers, allergies, blood disorders, diseases of the adrenal glands, inflammatory conditions of the skin, joints, lungs, other organs, such as asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, seasonal allergies, drug allergic reactions, uveitis, urticaria, angioedema, iridocyclitis, ulcerative colitis, adrenocortical insufficiency, primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease), pericarditis, hypercalcemia (high blood calcium), temporal arteritis, Crohn's disease, Bell's palsy, nephrotic syndrome, dermatitis, dermatomyositis, pyoderma gangrenosum, psoriasis, pruritus, trichomoniasis, candidiasis, haemorrhoids, anal fissure, cluster headaches, vasculitis, multiple sclerosis, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, sarcoidosis, autoimmune hepatitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, pemphigus, pemphigoid, bullous pemphigoid, Kawasaki disease, optic neuritis, post-myocardial infarction syndrome, as an immunosuppressive drug for organ transplants; to inhibit the edema, capillary dilation, fibrin deposition, leukocyte migration, fibroblast and capillary proliferation, deposition of collagen, scar formation with inflammation; in veterinary (to treat allergic and inflammatory conditions in dogs, cats, horses, cattle, calves, ferrets); by athletes in sports; and for other medical conditions. It works by inhibiting the inflammatory response to a variety of inciting agents.
    Prednisolone Acetate ophthalmic drops is indicated for the therapy of eye inflammations, disorders of the eyelid, conjunctiva or sclera; corneal injuries caused by chemicals, burns and alien objects; to reduce redness, swelling, itching, bacterial keratitis, allergic reactions affecting the eye.
