This medicine is used for the treatment, prevention and prophylaxis of various fungal and yeast infections such as systemic and non-systemic (internal and disseminated) Candida and other fungal infections of the vagina (vaginal infections, yeast infections, vaginal yeast infection), urinary tract, throat, mouth, bloodstream, kidney, joints, heart, central nervous system infections; active infections in people with weak immune systems, neutropenia due to cancer chemotherapy, Candida infections due to advanced HIV infections, transplant patients, bone marrow transplantation, premature infants; peritonitis, fungal peritonitis, pneumonia, fungal pneumonia, blastomycosis, candidiasis, chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, esophageal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, candidemia, coccidiodomycosis (coccidioidomycosis), cryptococcal infections, cryptococcosis, cryptococcal meningoencephalitis, cryptococcal meningitis, histoplasmosis, dermatophytosis, fingernail and toenail onychomycosis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea versicolor, pityriasis versicolor, oral thrush, sporotrichosis, in veterinary medicine. The spectrum of activity includes most Candida species, Cryptococcus neoformans, some dimorphic fungi, dermatophytes.
