  • Bromocriptine (trade names include Parlodel, Bromergon, Bromokriptin, Proctinal, Cripsa, Cycloset, Medocriptine, Pravidel, Suplac, Parlodel SRO) is a medication for nervous and genito-urinary systems from dopamine agonists and prolactine inhibitors pharmacological groups. This medicine is used in therapy of acromegaly, hyperprolactinaemia - disorders due to high prolactin levels such as amenorrhea, infertility, menstrual and fertility problems, hypogonadism, prolactin-secreting adenomas, pituitary tumors, symptoms caused by certain cancers. Bromocriptine Mesylate is prescribed for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, parkinsonism, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, people who have too much growth hormone; as an adjunct in a quick-release formulation for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus alone or in combination with other antidiabetic drugs such as metformin. It is also off-label indicated to reduce the symptoms of cocaine withdrawal. This drug works as an ergoline derivative and dopamine agonist.
