Adapalene (trade names include Differin, Adaferin, Adapaleno Galderma, Adapen, Deriva, Differin-XP, Klenzit, Deriva-MS) is a third-generation retinoid-like medication from retinoids for topical use in acne pharmacological group. This medicine is indicated to treat of mild to moderate acne (blackheads, whiteheads and pimples) of the face, chest or back. It is also used off-label for the treatment of other skin conditions such as keratosis pilaris, actinic keratoses, warts, plantar warts, callus, molluscum contagiosum, photoaging, Darier disease, pigmentary disorders, alopecia areata; by men undergoing foreskin restoration. Adapalene works by helping the skin cells renew quicker and decreases blackhead formation.
