  • Meloxicam (trade names include Mobic, Aglan, Apo-Meloxicam, Coxflam, Flexiver, M-Cam, Melflam, Melonex, Meloxicam Mylan, Metacam, Movacox, Movalis, Movatec, Movicox, Meloxicam Teva) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) from oxicams pharmacological group. This medicine is used to reduce inflammation, swelling and to treat pain. It may be indicated for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, primary dysmenorrhea, fever, as an analgesic (especially where there is an inflammatory component), in veterinary medicine. Meloxicam is COX-2 selective, which means it causes less stomach problems than traditional NSAIDs. Mobic works by preventing the production of irritant chemicals that cause pain and inflammation in the body.
