  • Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim (trade names include Bactrim, Septra, Co-Trimoxazole, Bactrim-DS, Septra-DS, Apo-Sulfatrim, Biseptol, Bactrim-F, Biseptrim, Cotrim, Cotrimoxazol, Eusaprim Forte, Novo-Trimel DS, Sepmax, Septrin, SMZ-TMP, Sulfatrim, Trimeth / Sulfa, Cotrimoxazole, Bactrim Forte) is a combined antibacterial medication from "sulfonamides and trimethoprim" pharmacological group. This medicine is used to treat various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract, renal and urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin and wound, eye and ear infections, inclusion conjunctivitis, otitis media, septicaemias, travelers' diarrhea, cholera, pneumocystis pneumonia in people with HIV/AIDS, malaria, toxoplasmosis, trachoma, in veterinary, and other infections caused by sensitive organisms. It works by killing sensitive bacteria.
