This medicine is used to relief certain types of nerve pain or seizures in patients with epilepsy. It is useful for the therapy of nerve pain due to diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia. Lyrica is also indicated for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, other anxiety conditions, neuropathic pain, chronic low back pain, fibromyalgia, post-herpetic neuralgia, restless leg syndrome, alcohol withdrawal, prevention of migraines, to decrease the use of opioids before surgery, for adult patients with epilepsy as an add-on therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalization. Pregabalin works as an analogue of gamma-aminobutirovoy acid (GABA).
